Payroll Experience Within Healthcare Strongly Preferred.

This position is in-person at our Toms River, NJ corporate office.

Complete Care Management is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Vice President of Payroll to oversee payroll operations across our multi-state organization. This in-person role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for our employees while driving efficiency and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Operations & Compliance:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure proper payroll deductions, including benefits, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
  • Lead the payroll close process, ensuring payroll cycles are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS team to optimize payroll systems and integrations.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

  • Supervise and mentor payroll team members, including Payroll Leads and Processors.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across all locations.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll aligns with company policies and financial objectives.
  • Generate payroll reports and analytics for executive leadership, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of payroll management experience, preferably in a multi-state, high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms (ADP, UKG, or similar preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a payroll team.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
