Basic Function
The Senior Director – Site Leader will lead and manage all manufacturing operations at Stryker’s Portage, MI facility. In partnership with the Medical leadership team, this leader will be responsible for driving a culture of manufacturing excellence and advancing business processes to meet current and future needs.

The Senior Director – Site Leader will lead and manage all manufacturing operations at Stryker’s Portage, MI facility. In partnership with the Medical leadership team, this leader will be responsible for driving a culture of manufacturing excellence and advancing business processes to meet current and future needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Portage site aligned with GQO Manufacturing and Technical Centers of Excellence.
- Establish site objectives and drive operational plans to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets.
- Lead a high-performing, cross-disciplinary team; coach and develop managers and future leaders.
- Ensure alignment with Integrated Business Planning and Supply Planning to support product demand and delivery goals.
- Partner with Division and Customer leaders to inform sales strategies and optimize business decisions.
- Oversee site financial performance and independently manage plant-level budgets.
- Provide input during revenue meetings, ensuring production capacity aligns with demand.
- Ensure compliance for products covered under Stryker’s Service Warranty.
- Continuously evolve the organizational structure to support strategic goals.
- Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and positive employee engagement.
- Promote talent management, cultural initiatives, and strong people engagement across the site.
- Directly and indirectly manage a diverse team of professionals and supervisors.
- Evaluate team performance based on plant objectives.
- Lead through both direct reports and cross-functional influence.
- Medium work: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in group and telephonic settings.
- Strong visual acuity and fine motor skills required.
- Must be able to operate common office equipment.
- Ability to create detailed proposals, priorities, and procedures.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills for complex issues.
- Attention to detail for observing and correcting inconsistencies.
- Capable of making decisions that influence operations and may have division-wide impact.
- 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Proven success in full P&L responsibility and strategic planning.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing talent.
- Demonstrated ability to influence across multiple functions and divisions.
- Strong proficiency in ERP Systems, preferred expertise with SAP and familiarity with paperless tracking systems
- Background in managing performance and driving continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and significant industry experience may also be considered.
- Master’s degree preferred.
