The Assistant Director of Sales is responsible for supporting the Director of Sales in executing strategic initiatives to increase room and event revenue for La Posada Hotel. This position plays a key role in developing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the hotel achieves its sales goals in the corporate, government, group, and leisure segments.

Education/Formal Training:
The Assistant Director of Sales is responsible for supporting the Director of Sales in executing strategic initiatives to increase room and event revenue for La Posada Hotel. This position plays a key role in developing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the hotel achieves its sales goals in the corporate, government, group, and leisure segments.
Job Duties
- Assist in developing and executing the annual sales and marketing plan to meet revenue targets.
- Actively solicit new business through prospecting, networking, and market research.
- Support the Director of Sales in managing key accounts and fostering strong client partnerships.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and sales missions.
- Respond to RFPs and prepare customized proposals and contracts for potential clients.
- Conduct property tours and site inspections for prospective customers and event planners.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of group and event bookings.
- Monitor sales metrics, prepare reports, and participate in revenue meetings.
- Maintain accurate records in the sales CRM system and track client communications.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior members of the sales team as needed.
Education/Formal Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service or boutique property.
- Strong knowledge of local market segments and demand generators in South Texas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel sales platforms (Delphi, CI/TY, or similar).
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and develop lasting client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred due to regional client base.
