What you will be doing!
As an IT Field Support Specialist, Level 3, you will provide both on-site and remote support for various technology equipment, including computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing systems. Your role will involve conducting site surveys to assess and document existing configurations and user requirements, as well as analyzing current specifications for hardware acquisitions. You will be responsible for developing hardware installation schedules, preparing drawings to document configuration changes at each site, and creating installation and testing reports. Training site personnel on the proper use of hardware and building specialized interconnecting cables are also essential aspects of your responsibilities.
Responsibilities
As an IT Field Support Specialist, Level 3, you will provide both on-site and remote support for various technology equipment, including computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing systems. Your role will involve conducting site surveys to assess and document existing configurations and user requirements, as well as analyzing current specifications for hardware acquisitions. You will be responsible for developing hardware installation schedules, preparing drawings to document configuration changes at each site, and creating installation and testing reports. Training site personnel on the proper use of hardware and building specialized interconnecting cables are also essential aspects of your responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify end-user devices such as servers, personal computers, thin clients, network interface cards, phones, monitors, printers, pagers, and radios.
- Provide maintenance and technical support on devices, integrated systems, and subsystems, as well as install and configure software at customer and/or field locations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to end-user hardware and software.
- Perform after-hours operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and restarting server applications hosted on VMware and standalone applications. Additionally, monitor data backup routines and provide second-level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. Engage on-call and vendor support as necessary according to established escalation procedures.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- High School diploma or GED with nine (9) years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with seven (7) years of experience.
- IAT Level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M.
- Strong skills in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
- Proficient in installing Windows, software applications, antivirus programs, and patches.
- General system administrator experience with proficiency in one or more operating systems (Linux, CentOS, Fedora, Windows Server) and virtualized environments (VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with IT enterprise management systems is a plus but not a prerequisite.
- Knowledge of the designs, specifications, and configurations of various databases (e.g., MySQL, Sybase, Oracle, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and provide remote support to end-users.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
- Familiarity with Active Directory security and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph to be considered for this roll
