Opportunity:
The Buyer will purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and ensuring continuity of supply.
Qualifications:
Education: B.S. in Business or Related Field
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Purchasing, Accounting, or Supply Management
Areas of Knowledge: Blueprint Reading (preferred), Purchasing, MS Office
Skills: Math, Written/Oral Communications, Problem Solving, Accuracy, Organization, Negotiation
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for processing crib orders
- Responsible for processing any requisition from the purchasing queue
- Provide backup to the Purchasing Manager and other Buyers.
- Responsible for filing and storage of all purchase orders, vendor change forms, labor contracts, blanket orders, miscellaneous shipping orders, and capital purchases
- Check and file packing slips.
- Maintain labor contract insurance certificates and Exhibit I file for all contractors doing work in Kokomo and US Service Centers
- Maintain cost avoidance and cost savings spreadsheets to capture raw material, scrap and MRO savings.
- Provide assistance to internal customers to resolve/troubleshoot issues.
- Add and update vendors as needed.
- Responsible for obtaining competitive quotes for requisition items.
- Responsible for resolving invoicing issues.
- Responsible for managing and processing spare parts orders.
- Complete reports as needed.
- Complete vendor audits as needed.
- Continue to build positive relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and work habits at all times.
