- Oversees staff schedules to assure they meet patient needs and regulatory and budgetary standards.
- Evaluates the work performance of all personnel in the ASC, assists in determination of wage increases, and implements discipline according to policy.
- Oversees and supervises development and delivery of training, certification, and education programs to equip staff with sufficient knowledge and skills to provide quality care.
- Assist the Director of Nursing and ASC Coordinator in preparing staff for inspection surveys, instructing staff on matters of conduct and disclosure, being interviewed by inspectors, immediate corrections of problems noted by surveyors, etc. Reviews and reinforces important standards previously cited.
- Provide direct patient care to individuals in the pre-surgical, operative and recovery periods; collaborates with medical staff and other departments daily to promote coordination of patient care.
- Assure quality of care by adhering to compliance standards; following ASC philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
- Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Maintain compliance with the organization’s confidentiality policy in accordance to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Monitor ASC processes to ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and with the guidelines set by relevant regulatory agencies
- BS/BSN degree is required.
- Registered Nurse with current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana
- Current certification in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required.
- Minimum of one-year related work experience in surgical services is preferred.
