Summary

Develops and promotes relationships for assigned commercial book of business by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Oversees renewal process for each assigned policy and prepares quotes to present to customer annually.
  • Facilitates the claims process if needed.
  • Overall responsibility for their customer accounts, providing quality customer service.
  • Interviews clients to determine financial position, resources, assets available, and risk tolerance.
  • Analyzes and discusses risk exposure to inform the client of various methods of risk transfer or risk assumption.
  • Secures and maintains appropriate insurance coverage for clients.
  • Provides clients with information and advice on insurance services.
  • Builds long-term insurance advisory relationships with clients.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May directly supervise one to four employees as required. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years experience with multi-line insurance products. Supervisory experience preferred.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of computer applications such as the Internet, Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Ability to use basic office machines.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Commercial Lines - Property and Casualty insurance license,

Life & Health – Life & Health insurance license.

Other Skills And Abilities

Commercial - Advanced knowledge of commercial coverages and forms.

Life & Health - Advanced knowledge of life & health coverages and forms.

Customer Service Skills

Ability and judgment to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees, customers and supervisor. Ability to serve customers, both internal and external, (community/public) in a manner that will reflect superior customer relations and enhance the overall marketing effort of Origin Bancorp.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
