Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow pharma relationships and provide responsive customer service with assigned accounts; evaluate current and future clinical and service needs for existing and new accounts
- Develop request-for-proposals documents and solicit and evaluate bids; lead contracting process with selected CROs, collaborating with relevant departments such as Legal and Finance
- Collaborate with key internal departments (clinical operations, regulatory, trade relations, finance) and external partners (CROs, regulatory authorities) to ensure seamless coordination and execution of study start-up activities
- Lead clinical study activities and provide strategic and tactical planning, organization, direction, and tracking for completing studies within project timelines and accuracy benchmarks
- Manage and provide accountability for day-to-day operations of assigned projects, as defined by the contract and according to ICH/GCP and all other applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Serve as primary Sponsor contact for operational project-specific issues and study deliverables
- Provide cross-functional oversight of internal project team members and deliverables, which includes ensuring all necessary project-specific training is completed
- Develop and implement robust strategies for assessing and evaluating opportunities identified in project execution with a focus on improving quality of services provided, efficiency, risk reduction, while ensuring alignment across all clinical stakeholders
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and resources necessary to ensure organization compliance with ICH/GCP and all other applicable laws, rules, and regulations in the conduct of clinical studies
Required Qualifications
- Masters (required) or Doctorate (preferred) in health-related field (e.g., nursing, health sciences, pharmacy, public health, etc.)
- 6+ years of experience with Phase II to IV pharmaceutical trials
- 2+ years of experience with Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) and decentralized clinical trial activities
- Knowledge of drug development and clinical trial processes, including related standards, budgeting/contracting considerations, assessment of fair market value, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Demonstrated effective communication and collaboration with pharmaceutical manufacturers, health systems, and a decentralized workforce
- Travel as needed approximately 25%
- Research-related certification, such as Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) - Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) or ACRP Certified Clinical Research Professional (ACRP-CP) - Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP)
- 3+ years of profit and loss (P&L) statement management
