Environmental, Health And Safety (EHS) Manager

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will lead and implement the company’s environmental, health, and safety programs across all locations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. The EHS Manager will drive continuous improvement in health and safety processes, risk management, and sustainable practices across Rensa Filtration’s operations, ensuring that all facilities are operating efficiently and responsibly.

Essential Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • EHS Program Development & Management:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, programs, and initiatives in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Lead company-wide EHS compliance efforts, including regulatory filings, audits, and inspections.
    • Ensure all 14 entities and 26 locations adhere to safety standards, environmental laws, and internal protocols.
    • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve EHS processes and performance across all locations.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay current on all local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations to ensure full compliance.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports, permit renewals, and other regulatory filings as required.
  • Manage and oversee the investigation, reporting, and resolution of incidents, accidents, and environmental concerns.
  • Training & Education:
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring proper understanding and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Conduct on-site training, workshops, and drills related to emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and safety practices.
  • Safety and Risk Management:
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with leadership and department heads to ensure safety protocols are integrated into daily operations.
  • Lead accident/incident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective/preventive actions to mitigate risk.
  • Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship:
  • Drive sustainability initiatives and environmental impact reduction programs in line with Rensa Filtration’s corporate goals.
  • Monitor and ensure proper waste management, energy usage, and pollution prevention programs are followed at all locations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of green initiatives and environmental certifications.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, and audits.
  • Prepare and present regular EHS performance reports to senior management, providing insights on key safety metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure all required documentation is maintained and easily accessible for audits, inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, government agencies, and contractors.
  • Communicate EHS best practices and updates to all employees, creating a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Required Skills/Abilities

  • Expert knowledge in safety programs (including Hazard Safety Analysis), advanced data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of project management and change management disciplines.
  • Must be able to anticipate problems and issues and exercise independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems while knowing when and to whom to escalate issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be highly customer service focused.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS management role, preferably in a multi-location or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA), health and safety standards, and sustainability practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
