The Role
The Director of RCM will contribute to the fulfillment of Panorama Eyecare’s mission statement by leading revenue cycle functions. This individual will provide leadership and oversight for the entire revenue cycle, ensuring that processes from patient registration to payment collection are streamlined, efficient, and compliant. The Director will also work closely with other departments to support organizational goals and drive continuous improvement.

The Director of RCM will contribute to the fulfillment of Panorama Eyecare’s mission statement by leading revenue cycle functions. This individual will provide leadership and oversight for the entire revenue cycle, ensuring that processes from patient registration to payment collection are streamlined, efficient, and compliant. The Director will also work closely with other departments to support organizational goals and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Oversight: Lead and manage the revenue cycle department, ensuring the smooth functioning of all stages of the revenue cycle, including charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, collections, and denials management.
- Strategy and Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle process. Identify opportunities for improvements, cost savings, and automation in workflow processes.
- Financial Management: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle performance (e.g., days in accounts receivable, cash collections, denial rates, and write-offs). Provide strategic guidance on how to improve these metrics and increase revenue recovery.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including billing, coding, finance, IT, and HR, to ensure alignment and integration of revenue cycle processes with overall company operations.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure that all revenue cycle activities are compliant with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and company policies. Stay updated on regulatory changes, including HR rules and regulations that impact the revenue cycle process.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue cycle team. Foster a collaborative environment and provide training and professional development opportunities to staff members.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular financial and operational reports to the executive team and stakeholders. Provide data-driven insights using reporting tools to track performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
- Technology Integration: Oversee the effective use of NextGen and other relevant software systems for revenue cycle management. Work with IT teams to ensure these systems are optimized for performance, efficiency, and compliance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling related to revenue cycle activities. Manage departmental expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiencies, reduce billing errors, improve patient satisfaction, and enhance cash flow.
Performance/Skills Requirements:
- Strong analytical and financial management skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams, communicate effectively with cross-functional departments, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep understanding of healthcare payer processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies that improve revenue cycle performance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data and information clearly to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, including charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, and collections.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role.
- Previous experience working with NextGen (or similar EHR/PM systems).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools for advanced reporting and analytics, preferred
- Certification in Revenue Cycle Management or related fields (e.g., CPAR, CHFP), preferred.
- This is a Full-Time Remote position.
- Compensation for this role will be $125,000- $145,000 annually based on experience/certification.
- This position is eligible for a 12% annual bonus.
