Job Description:

Reporting to the Miller-Dwan Foundation, the Miller-Dwan Foundation Fundraising Development Officer will lead and manage fundraising initiatives across multiple departments within our organization. This individual will play a key role in identifying and cultivating relationships with donors, securing financial support, and ensuring the continued growth of our fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with leadership teams from various departments, including but not limited to programs and marketing to raise funds that support the overall mission and goals of the organization.

Education Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Miller-Dwan Foundation leadership to develop and implement strategic fundraising plans to support various departments, ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall mission and goals
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with potential donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners
• Research potential funding sources, including grants, major donors, corporate sponsorships, and other philanthropic opportunities
• Create compelling proposals, case statements, and marketing materials to engage potential donors and communicate the impact of their support across different departments
• Organize and lead fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives that support diverse departmental needs
• Collaborate with department heads to understand funding priorities, project needs, and long-term goals, ensuring that fundraising strategies meet the evolving needs of each department
• Track, analyze, and report on fundraising progress to ensure fundraising goals are met, adjusting strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate records of donor information and interactions using fundraising databases
• Provide support in preparing and submitting grant applications, including writing, tracking deadlines, and reporting on grant outcomes
• Foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization and help integrate fundraising into the broader activities and communication strategies of all departments
  
  

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of fundraising or development experience, ideally in a multi-departmental or nonprofit setting
• Proven track record of successfully securing and managing donations from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources
• Experience with fundraising software and donor management systems
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of grant writing and reporting processes
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising
  
  

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

• Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE)
