Job Summary
The Regional Charge Nurse (RCN) is responsible for overseeing clinical quality, safety, and compliance across multiple centers within the region. This role ensures that nursing staff and Lead MA personnel adhere to clinical standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines. The RCN will also function as a Safety and Quality Lead and Specialist, ensuring all audits, safety rounds, and performance evaluations are completed in a timely and effective manner.

Job Summary

Leadership And Oversight
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to Lead MAs, HUB RNs, and LPNs across multiple centers.
- Act as the primary clinical liaison between centers and the Senior Safety and Quality Nurse Manager.
- Ensure staff accountability for clinical performance, workflow efficiency, and compliance.
- Support center teams in implementing company policies, protocols, and best practices.
- Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving between nursing staff, providers, and administrative teams.
- Oversee and ensure completion of clinical audits, chart reviews, and quality control measures at all assigned centers.
- Conduct weekly audits to assess documentation accuracy, adherence to protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure completion of safety rounds, hand hygiene assessments, and action plans in all centers.
- Identify trends in clinical performance gaps and develop action plans for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, HIPAA, and state/federal regulations.
- Act as the lead safety officer for assigned centers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all incident reports, safety concerns, and compliance issues are documented and addressed promptly.
- Work with center leadership to implement corrective action plans following compliance audits.
- Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety awareness.
- Provide ongoing education, coaching, and competency evaluations for clinical staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations for nursing staff and Lead MAs, providing feedback and improvement plans when needed.
- Organize quarterly training sessions on safety, quality, and clinical best practices.
- Ensure all clinical staff complete mandatory training, certifications, and policy reviews on time.
- Monitor and optimize clinical workflows, staffing efficiency, and resource allocation across centers.
- Ensure all required reports, safety logs, and compliance checklists are completed and submitted on schedule.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing needs, ensuring proper coverage and efficient use of personnel.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Serve as a liaison between center staff, leadership, and the Senior Safety and Quality Nurse Manager.
- Participate in regional leadership meetings to discuss clinical performance, safety, and quality initiatives.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with staff regarding
- expectations, updates, and policy changes.
- Address staff concerns, conflicts, and operational challenges in a professional and proactive manner.
- The Regional Charge Nurse will be evaluated on the following key performance indicators (KPIs):
- Timely completion of safety rounds, audits, and compliance reports.
- Adherence to quality and patient safety standards across all assigned centers.
- Effectiveness in coaching and mentoring Lead MAs, RNs, and LPNs.
- Improvement in clinical performance metrics and operational efficiency.
- Timely resolution of compliance and safety concerns.
- Staff satisfaction and engagement levels.
This position will supervise Lead Medical Assistants, HUB Registered Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses.
Required Education
- N/A
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or charge nurse role.
- Active RN license (state-specific as required).
- Strong knowledge of clinical quality metrics, compliance standards, and patient safety protocols.
- Proficiency in conducting audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple locations, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in EMR systems, data reporting, and compliance tracking.
- Flexible schedule based on urgent clinical needs, audits, and leadership meetings.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability healthcare environment.
- Experience in Urgent Care, ambulatory care, or multi-site clinical operations is preferred.
