The Research and Analysis Bureau at the Idaho Department of Labor has an exciting opportunity for a full time Research Analyst. This position is located at the Central Office in Boise, Idaho. Duties will include telephone data collection, performing basic qualitative and quantitative research and will be involved with data preparation, preliminary data analysis and perform related work.

Successful completion of a background check is required as a condition of employment.

Example Of Duties

  • Refine survey sample by correcting addresses, researching contact names, email addresses and providing a reporting unit description for each sampled location.
  • Collect data via telephone, email and survey forms.
  • Identify erroneous or questionable data using established methods and procedures to ensure the quality of collected data.
  • Code, enter and edit collected data manually or by computer upload to be used for program and labor market evaluation.
  • Provide requested data in response to information requests.
  • Work with lead on survey research such as instrument development, sampling, data collection, data entry and analysis.

  • Minimum Qualifications: You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Good Knowledge Of

  • Research methods.
  • Principles of statistics.

Experience

  • Writing analytical (research) reports or materials. This requires approximately one year of work experience analyzing data, drawing conclusions and writing reports or portions of reports supporting research results.
  • Using statistical software or spreadsheet software to perform statistical analysis.
