We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Director of Facilities at The Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant (LVMG) community in Ellicott City, MD. The Assistant Director of Facilities will assist the Director of Facilities in performing general managerial duties with staffing and budgetary plans and managing resources to achieve departmental goals.

Job Duties

  • Assists the Director of Facilities in the development of departmental policies and procedures to align strategic objectives or initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate logistical planning of facilities-related projects, staffing and budgetary plans.
  • Plan and coordinate complex assignments and projects across departmental units.
  • Provide day-to-day management of facility needs and serve as the main contact for all facilities, maintenance, security, housekeeping, and laundry issues.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for Facilities team members regarding daily operations.
  • Oversee daily administration of vendor contracts.
  • Represent the department to community residents, family members, visitors, vendors and all other interested parties.
  • Assist with all Environmental Services and Maintenance activities including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems, life safety, system engineering, building maintenance and transportation services.
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for Department of Health, Life Safety and OSHA standards as they relate to Environmental Services and Maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient working environment essential to the performance of LVMG quality service.
  • Ensure the facility is survey ready at all times in order to meet safety protocol standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance evaluations and checks with current contracted vendors.
  • Oversee the use of our Maintenance Management Software System, to manage work orders, assets, inventory, space utilization, and compliance tasks.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ supervisory experience in a CCRC or Hospitality environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, fire protection, safety systems, civil, low voltage, demolition, architectural and energy management.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Competency in organizational time management skills and demonstrate good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Functional knowledge of computer applications including micro-soft office and project management.
  • Ability to interact professionally with LVMG/departmental team members as well as contractors, manufactures, vendors and consultants.
  • All new team members will need to receive a COVID-19 vaccine within the first 30 days of hire.
