Summary
The Registered Nurse EMR Support performs nursing functions according to the nursing process and as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. The Registered Nurse EMR Support supports the patient, the physician and other staff members by serving as a liaison between the patient and healthcare provider, using effective listening and communicating skills.

Principal Responsibilities
- Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.
- Provides nursing care according to the sequential steps of the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Directs patient flow and prepare patients for exams.
- Facilitates collection of all necessary information required for patient visits. Accurately records pertinent information in the Electronic Medical Record and ensures necessary patient care documentation is processed in a timely manner.
- Accurately triage patient phone calls and ensure that callbacks and prescription refills are completed in a timely fashion consistent with provider guidelines, scope of practice, and clinic guidelines.
- Understands and follows the approved prescription refill workflow and documentation requirements. Communicates directly with provider for any refills that need provider input, or that do not meet the workflow requirements.
- Understands and interprets current immunization schedule.
- Assist with patient education, medication reconciliation, and care coordination using the EMR system.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to EMR utilization and patient care.
- Refer inquiries to appropriate resource.
- Documents pertinent information accurately.
- Perform data entry at time of call (where applicable).
- Maintain strictest confidentiality
- Proactively monitor physician schedules for accuracy.
- Improves the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendance/participation in most in-services/department meetings and remaining current on clinic/department policies and procedures.
- Actively participates in the cleaning of shared work areas, keeping exam rooms clean, neat and stocked.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing required.
- Current unencumbered State of Oregon license as a Registered Nurse required.
- One (1) or more years of experience in an acute care hospital and/or in an individual provider’s office or clinic setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
- Evidence of working knowledge of the nursing process.
- Knowledge of basic clinical skills to provide patient care.
- Ability to work well with providers, clinical staff, and patients.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work.
- Experience with an electronic medical record system
