Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement processes and supply chain operations. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing two employees along with vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that our inventory levels meet the demands of our customers needs. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of supply chain management, the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments, and strong people management skills.

Duties

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
  • Manage inventory control processes to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Oversee supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Team leadership of two employees, fostering a collaborative, high performance culture.
  • Conduct regular assessments of vendor performance and maintain positive relationships.
  • Utilize the ERP for tracking inventory and procurement activities.
  • Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs based on project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards in procurement practices.
  • Analyze market trends to identify potential suppliers and new sourcing opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement management, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management is essential.
  • Familiarity with and ERP or similar inventory management software is necessary. Experience with Trulinx is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
