Major Responsibilities

Provides data and reports to assist manager with analytics and department strategy analysis

  • Maintains system user access and removes user access to ensure confidentiality
  • Train the trainer education coordination
  • Develops Microsoft documents to support management, providing input to data and collection tools
  • Responsible for Women and Infants supplies and equipment acquisition.
  • Monitors Women and Infants volumes/budget to assure adequate provisions of supplies, instruments and equipment.
  • Follows policies and procedures pertaining to supply/capital acquisitions.

Responsible for gathering and maintaining personnel information required for staffing the nursing division.

  • Oversees ongoing schedule changes and coordinates those schedule changes with appropriate department.
  • Performs editing and bi-weekly payroll functions
  • Maintains database and scheduling of all nursing and support team members
  • Responsible for daily maintenance of staffing information for the nursing department.
  • Resource for nursing division in software application.

Assist with maintenance of ongoing data entry for accuracy and timelines

  • Reviews staffing sheets and enters information into department attendance book
  • Provides clerical support for manager in the form of scheduling forms, weekly schedules, call schedule and holiday schedule

Create and produce clinical information system reports from various data programs; Microsoft office, Advocateworks for department leadership.

  • Design, produce and review clinical and statistical information reports out of the appropriate information system as requested by departmental leadership in a timely manner.
  • Ensure reports are prepared and submitted to appropriate area in a timely manner.
  • Assure reliability of reports generated from IS through identification and resolution of problems related to patient care data
  • Assists the directors and managers to identify and present creative changes within the application that can increase efficiency in workflow

Maintains information system equipment, medical and non-medical supplies and accessories

  • Works with supervisor, vendors and IS to bring new devices on-line, troubleshoots existing devices and is responsible for the proper labeling of equipment and data jacks
  • Inventory and maintains supplies
  • Assists departments with budgeting needs for upcoming year in regard to enhancements, upgrades, monthly fees, supplies
  • Notifies Women and Infants Services team members and physicians of new products/equipment or instruments are available.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost savings by performing cost containment analysis
  • Maintains Unit telephones, Wows, and ensures they are in working order.
  • Performs required maintenance checks on all equipment on a regular basis and corrects or reports any issues found.
  • Maintains all accessory equipment
  • Call appropriate department or vendors for needed repairs and follows through, by keeping logs and tracking requests

Provides administrative support as well as analytical, technical and problem resolution, to manager and staff of the pediatric emergency department

  • Complex Microsoft development reports
  • Take minutes during meetings when assistance needed
  • Create statistical graphs for presentations
  • Communicates in a positive and effective manner. Education/Experience Required: Bachelors in Arts or Science

Minimum or 3 years of progressive hospital based Information System experience. A minimum of 1 year of Cerner scheduling database management experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Implementation experience; exposure to project leadership; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated technical, analytical and problem solving abilities; decision making abilities; excellent team player and customer service orientation N/A
