$26.50 per hour, 40 hours per week

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Basic Function Of Maintenance Technician Ii

Performs advanced building and grounds maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to complex troubleshooting and repairs, preventative maintenance, and project-based work in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and landscaping at any New Opportunities, Inc. location. Provides technical leadership and supports oversight of maintenance operations.

Responsibilities Of Maintenance Technician Ii

  • Lead and perform skilled maintenance and repair of building systems, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general structural repairs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure optimal performance and longevity of building systems and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of NOI facilities and related assets, and recommend corrective actions for deficiencies in mechanical, structural, or safety systems.
  • Perform routine repairs of both internal and external facilities (i.e. stairways, flooring, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, walkways, fencing, etc.)
  • Construct, paint and reconfigure offices as needed.
  • Perform routine landscape duties, such as weeding, pruning, removal of debris, and general grounds maintenance.
  • Utilize the agency’s work order system to efficiently log, track, and manage assigned maintenance tasks.
  • Identify, report, and address any unsafe conditions promptly; lead the response to urgent facility concerns.
  • Plan and conduct snow removal and other weather-related maintenance tasks, as needed.
  • Set up and prepare meeting and event rooms as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and assist in the training and onboarding of maintenance and support staff, as assigned.
  • Transport agency donations and deliveries as needed.
  • Open and close buildings as assigned, may include disarming and setting alarm systems.
  • Assist in planning and conducting regular fire drills.
  • Perform routine cleaning services as assigned, includes dusting, cleaning windows, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
  • Coordinate repairs and other maintenance issues with NOI supply vendors, contractors etc.
  • Be available to work early mornings, nights and/or weekends, particularly in adverse weather conditions or emergencies.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the agency.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS OF MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II:

Education

High School Diploma or G.E.D. desired.

Experience

5 years of experience in building maintenance and facilities management, or a skilled trade (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, general skilled work). Experience with preventative maintenance programs, work order systems, and vendor coordination.
