Teachers are the heart of San Clemente Christian School, shaping the spiritual and academic growth of students. This role requires a passion for teaching and a strong desire to nurture students academically and spiritually, preparing them to be lifelong learners and followers of Christ.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Instruction & Curriculum:
- Teaching the classes assigned by the School Principal.
- Demonstrating comfort and confidence in integrating biblical truths into all subject areas, ensuring students see God’s hand in all aspects of learning.
- Knowing the curriculum and essential standards in their content area.- Designing lesson content and activities that are developmentally appropriate and align with the school’s philosophy and objectives.
Student Support & Assessment:
- Maintaining accurate, complete, and timely records of each student’s progress.
- Posting grades on RenWeb weekly, with at least two grades per subject per week.
- Informing parents of student progress through messaging, report cards, and individual meetings.
- Designing and implementing intervention and enrichment opportunities for the diverse learning needs of students.- Using the Student Study Team (SST) process to monitor and refer struggling students.
Parent & Community Engagement:
- Actively welcome parents into the learning environment and process, fostering a collaborative relationship between the home, teacher, and school.
- Comfortability with parent involvement in the classroom and maintaining regular, open communication with parents.- Communicating regularly with parents through weekly newsletters, emails, and notes.
- Attending all relevant Parent-Teacher Conferences and meetings, including planning meetings and school-wide events.
- Keeping informed of all factors relevant to each student through personal files and records.
School & Community Involvement:
- Actively participating in extracurricular activities, including Back-to-School nights, Open House, New Family Orientation, fundraising events, community-building events, school dances, sporting events, worship nights, and more.
- Demonstrating a commitment to the school’s mission and fostering a Christ-centered learning environment.

Requirements / Qualifications
*Must hold a Multiple Subject Credential from the state of California or an equivalent certification/credential from another state.
*Bible-believing Christian who is passionate about making disciples of Christ and fostering a Christ-centered classroom community.
