The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire an Asset Coordinator to support and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Engineering and Public Works - Asset Management department. The Asset Coordinator earns a competitive hourly salary of $25.76 to $27.89/based on qualifications and experience. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. General Description

Under the general supervision of the Asset Manager, the Asset Coordinator will oversee the management, tracking, and maintenance of physical assets for the City of Pearland. This role involves ensuring proper documentation, ensuring compliance with policies, and supporting various departments in maximizing asset use and value. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams to ensure that all assets, including equipment, vehicles, and infrastructure, are efficiently managed throughout their life cycle.

Duties And Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Essential Functions

  • Asset Management:
    • Oversee the inventory of all local government assets, including but not limited to equipment, vehicles, and infrastructure. Ensure accurate records of all assets are maintained in the asset management system.
    • Capture GPS points of city owned infrastructure.
    • Attend walkthroughs of infrastructure projects.
  • Cityworks Software:
    • Develops and maintains domains for departments.
    • Creates/removes users within Cityworks and GIS Portal to maintain accurate employee registry.
    • Build/maintain service requests, work orders and inspections for departments.
    • Troubleshoot issues within the platform.
    • Creates searches and queries to gather data for departmental metrics and reports.
    • Performs related work as assigned.
Additional Duties

  • Tracking & Documentation: Conduct regular audits and physical inventories of assets, updating asset records, and tracking the movement, condition, and status of all assets.
  • Lifecycle Management: Manage the asset lifecycle, including the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and disposal of assets. Ensure all assets are in compliance with applicable safety and operational standards.
  • Coordination with Departments: Collaborate with various departments to understand their asset needs, prioritize requirements, and ensure timely delivery and allocation of resources. Documents, maps business processes and workflows related to asset management, recommends changes to improve efficiency.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with local government regulations, policies, and procedures regarding asset management. Prepare regular reports on asset status, including any issues related to asset conditions or compliance.
  • Maintenance & Scheduling: Work with departments to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and asset repair timelines.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze asset data to help with decision-making, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements in asset utilization or policies.
  • Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to staff on Cityworks AMS/PLL usage. Assist with the integration of outside software/s to Cityworks.
  • Budget Assistance: Assist in the preparation of asset management budgets, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
