Globally Inspired Sushi in a Mission-Driven Kitchen

Anju Above, part of Epiphany Farms Hospitality Group, is seeking a skilled sushi cook to join our team. We offer a vibrant, globally inspired menu that includes sushi, Asian street food, and creative seasonal dishes—all served in a casual, high-energy environment above downtown Bloomington.

We're looking for someone with strong knife skills, solid experience working on a sushi station, and a commitment to clean, consistent execution. This is a great opportunity for a cook with sushi experience who wants to grow in a supportive kitchen that values creativity, culture, and teamwork.

We welcome out-of-town candidates and may offer relocation assistance based on experience and fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present sushi dishes including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls
  • Butcher and portion fish for service; experience with whole fish a plus
  • Follow recipes, plating standards, and safety protocols with consistency
  • Keep workstation clean, organized, and fully stocked
  • Assist with prep and production tasks during non-service times
  • Communicate clearly with BOH leadership and teammates

Who You Are

  • You have 2-3 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 1 year focused on sushi
  • You take pride in your knife skills and care about clean technique
  • You work well on a team and stay calm under pressure
  • You’re reliable, organized, and eager to keep improving
  • You’re available evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • You can lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts

  • Hourly pay: $17-$20/hr, depending on experience and station versatility
