Sterling Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a precision machining client in Hanover Park, IL. This is a great opportunity to work with a company that has a great culture and is able to work on very exciting projects!

Job Duties:

• Lead full-cycle 4/5-axis machining processes from workholding design through CAM programming and part launch.
• Use Mastercam for simultaneous 5-axis programming and simulation.
• Collaborate with the QC department to develop inspection processes.
• Design complex workholding and fixturing for high-precision parts.
• Support shop floor teams during new product introductions.
• Apply strong knowledge of cutting tools, toolholding systems, and GD&T.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and advanced manufacturing development.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Mastery in Mastercam for 5-axis milling required.
• Proven experience designing complex workholding solutions.
• Deep understanding of cutting tools, toolholders, and machining strategies.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Experience with hard metals and tight-tolerance machining.
• Vericut and SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software) experience preferred.
• Mill/Turn experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated track record of success in similar machining/manufacturing roles.
