Job Summary
The HR Team at Aquarion is looking for an intern! The HR Intern is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations and assisting the HR team with running the overall human resources functions such as processing all personnel forms, updating files and other related data entry. Additionally, the HR intern will perform various HR clerical assignments, including: filing, reference checks, scheduling, and archiving.

Job Summary
The HR Team at Aquarion is looking for an intern! The HR Intern is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations and assisting the HR team with running the overall human resources functions such as processing all personnel forms, updating files and other related data entry. Additionally, the HR intern will perform various HR clerical assignments, including: filing, reference checks, scheduling, and archiving.
Principal Responsibilities
- Assist with the recruitment process, including screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
- Support onboarding efforts by preparing new hire paperwork and organizing orientation sessions.
- Maintain accurate employee records and assist with data entry in HR systems.
- Help organize employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and internal events.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, preparing HR reports, and updating documentation.
- Assist with training logistics, attendance tracking, and preparation of learning materials.
- PC literacy (MS Office).
- Knowledge of human resources principles and procedures for personnel management and information systems.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Ability to exercise judgment with time sensitive and confidential associate issues.
- Able to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to operate common office equipment- PCs, faxes, telephones, etc.
- Must be in the process of completing a bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources, psychology, business, or related field.
- Previous HR Internship experience preferred but not required.
- The internship will run from mid-May through end of August, 40 hours a week (on-site).
- Intern will report to our Bridgeport office.
- Hours will be 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday (flexible).
- This position will pay $17.00 an hour.
