Agape has an opening for a Grants Coordinator. Under the guidance of the Chief Development Officer, this position is responsible for overseeing the grants management process for Agape Child and Family Services including, but not limited to, identifying potential funding sources, researching and writing grant proposals, managing relationships with funders, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines, monitoring project progress, submitting required reports, and collaborating across departments within the organization. Will also participate in developing, designing, and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan supporting Agape’s annual philanthropic goal. Assists with other processes and initiatives within the Development team.

Responsibilities

  • Actively researches and identifies potential grant opportunities through foundations, corporations, and government entities that align with Agape Child and Family Services' mission and strategic goals.
  • Leads the writing and editing of compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation, ensuring adherence to funder guidelines, deadlines, and grants management software. Collaborates with other teams across the organization, including senior leadership, PQI, and program staff, to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment of information.
  • Ensures all grant activities comply with applicable reporting requirements, including partnering with the Finance Department for financial reporting.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with existing and potential funders through regular communication, updates on project progress, and stewardship activities. Coordinate potential and existing funder site visits.
  • Supports all department initiatives and processes, including, but not limited to, assistance with events, donor stewardship efforts, and donor data management.
  • Serve as an advocate for Agape Child & Family Services and the communities we serve.
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with Agape Child & Family Services staff.
  • Continually improve professional knowledge and skills by attending grant professionals' meetings, workshops, and conferences, as approved or planned by the agency.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which would allow for needed interaction and involvement to carry out the responsibilities of this position, including weekend and evening hours.
  • Attend regular supervision and team meetings.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training provided by the agency.
  • Will perform all other duties within the general scope of this position, as requested by the Chief Development Officer or members of the Agape Leadership Team.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Prolonged walking and standing, and climbing stairs within community sites and during community events.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position, and at least 2 years of relevant experience in grant writing and/or development. The ideal candidate is professional and resourceful, able to work independently and as a team player, and is very detailed and results-oriented. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to write, coordinate, and manage multiple grants, generate reports, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other software applications essential to this position. Preferred knowledge and work in grants management software. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor is required. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a passion for the Agape mission, vision, and core values, possess outstanding organizational and management skills, and demonstrate leadership qualities. Must have an automobile available for business use and maintain a current driver's license and current auto insurance with acceptable coverage levels. Will be required to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed. Candidate must be willing to engage in Agape's Performance Quality and Improvement (also known as Continuous Quality Improvement) standards of quality & excellence.
