Medical Biller

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to manage insurance claims, patient billing, and the coding of medical procedures and diagnoses. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate billing and maximizing reimbursements for the organization.

#### **Key Responsibilities:**

• Assign accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims promptly and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Review medical records to ensure proper coding and compliance with regulations.
• Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification on documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of billing activities and patient accounts.
• Address patient billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of charges.
• Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, insurance policies, and compliance regulations.
• Ensure all billing practices adhere to HIPAA standards.
• **High School Diploma or GED** is required.
• Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC, CCA, CCS) is mandatory.
• **1-2 years** of experience in medical billing and coding is preferred.
• Proficiency with billing software and EHR systems.
• Knowledge of insurance procedures, including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills for interacting with insurance companies and patients.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical billing standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
