Job Overview
The Dietary Assistant performs diversified duties in diet office, e.g. maintains diet records, tallies food requirements and other similar tasks. In this role they will collect patient menus and forms menu correction. They ll follow standard practices and comply with regulatory requirements while ensuring that patients are satisfied with their meals and receive the items they chose.

Job Overview
The Dietary Assistant performs diversified duties in diet office, e.g. maintains diet records, tallies food requirements and other similar tasks. In this role they will collect patient menus and forms menu correction. They ll follow standard practices and comply with regulatory requirements while ensuring that patients are satisfied with their meals and receive the items they chose.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of Dietetic Assistant/Technician Program
- One year food service experience
- Basic knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition
- Shifts vary, such as 7:00am-3:30pm and 11:00am-7:30pm
- Rotating weekends
- Per Diem
- Answer telephone taking messages and relaying information as necessary using proper etiquette
- Assists patients with menus, making all efforts necessary to see that patient receives his/her choice
- Conducts point of service on assigned floors in a timely manner
- Consistently follows posted schedules and attendance policy
- Corrects modified menus, at patient bedside, and with patient concurrence whenever possible
- Demonstrates the ability to identify what the patient's educational needs are
- Maintains inventory of menus and supplies
- Monitors the effects of dietary service through meal rounds
- Participates in the interdisciplinary teaching process
- Prepares production reports and generates to appropriate area
- Processes requisitions from computer according to procedure
- Provides basic diet information to patients on diets
