- Operate various power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, grinders, impact guns, hydraulic jacks, and work with insulation.
- Ability to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Work on elevated surfaces such as scaffolding, on top of units, in boiler systems, 100+ feet, and in confined spaces.
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
- The ability to accurately read a measuring tape, follow written/verbal instructions, and communicate with coworkers positively.
- Can communicate effectively with team members, management, and supervisors.
- Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
- Must be available to travel continuously throughout the US to jobs (IAFD pays for travel
- Knowledge of hand tools is required.
- Must be willing to work with and around insulation including installation as needed
- Experience supporting welders in the power industry is a plus.
- TWIC Card preferred.
- Basic Plus or OSHA 10 is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screen - No felonies within the last 7 years.
