Job Summary
Since 1997, AlphaStaff has delivered HR outsourcing solutions to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses across the country, as well as some large organizations. Since 2005, Gang Alternative, Inc. (GA) has delivered life-changing community programs that support youth, families, and underserved communities across South Florida.
GA is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Programs to join its executive team. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, this leader will oversee the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of assigned program areas. The Director is responsible for end-to-end program oversight including development, execution, performance monitoring, budget management, fundraising support, grant compliance, and external partnership cultivation to ensure programs meet funder expectations, drive measurable impact, and align with the organization’s mission.

You have successfully managed multiple simultaneous grants across a variety of subject matter areas, including youth development, workforce reentry, behavioral health, violence prevention, and family strengthening.
You bring deep knowledge of grant compliance, from program implementation and monitoring to outcome reporting and audit preparedness. You are skilled at navigating the complexities of federal funding, maintaining productive relationships with program officers, and ensuring that all deliverables are met with precision and integrity.
You thrive in a fast-paced, multi-program environment, using data to guide decision-making and pivot when necessary. You are an effective communicator, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader who inspires high-performing teams, build strong partnerships, and aligns every program with GA’s mission while upholding the highest standards of accountability and impact.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership in the successful implementation, oversight, and performance management of multiple grant-funded programs—primarily federally funded initiatives—across varied subject matter areas (e.g., youth development, workforce, reentry, behavioral health, prevention).
- Ensure all programs meet and exceed funder expectations, contractual deliverables, and compliance standards through proactive monitoring, internal controls, and quality assurance systems.
- Lead the full program lifecycle, including planning, organizing, staffing, and execution, with a focus on measurable impact and fidelity to funder and organizational requirements.
- Supervise the timely submission of comprehensive monthly reports detailing implementation progress, outcomes, expenditures, compliance status, risks, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to develop and monitor detailed program budgets, ensuring accurate allocations, responsible expenditures, and long-term fiscal sustainability.
- Serve as the primary liaison to funder program officers, ensuring clear communication, proactive issue resolution, and timely submission of required reports, data, and deliverables.
- Implement continuous quality improvement processes across all programs, strengthening systems, workflows, and staff performance to enhance operational efficiency and client impact.
- Contribute to the identification of new funding opportunities and assist in the development of competitive proposals, including program design, logic models, outcomes, and compliance planning.
- Design and execute program evaluation strategies to assess effectiveness, inform policy, and promote evidence-based practices.
- Develop systems to capture, organize, and disseminate program learnings and results across departments, partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead internal capacity building by training and developing program staff to support effective program delivery, compliance adherence, and data integrity; establish clear performance expectations and hold staff accountable for meeting implementation benchmarks and funder deliverables.
- Represent GA at external meetings, community coalitions, conferences, and policy forums to elevate the organization’s impact and influence.
- Support the preparation of presentations and participate in meetings, trainings, and strategic planning sessions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience managing grant-funded social service programs, with a strong preference for leadership within nonprofit organizations and federally funded initiatives.
- At least 2 years in a senior or executive role supervising multiple managers and program areas.
- Demonstrated knowledge in grant writing, compliance, reporting, and working with federal, state, and local funders.
- Strong understanding of 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) and audit readiness requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex program budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Analytical skills with proficiency in data-driven performance measurement.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills with executives, boards, and external stakeholders.
- Integrity-driven leadership style with a focus on accountability and equity.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Must have reliable access to a properly insured personal vehicle during working hours, and the ability to travel locally and regionally (up to 50%) to support program sites and events. Mileage reimbursement will be provided as part of work-related travel.
