assumes responsibility delegated by the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).

Position Overview:
The ADNS assists in managing the department of nursing and
assumes responsibility delegated by the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in interviewing applicants and recommend hiring of staff and scheduling.
- Participate in orientation and in-service education training.
- Participate in performance reviews and personnel files; enforce the personnel policies of the community, including disciplining and terminating care team members.
- Assist DNS in ensuring compliance with regulations for documentation from physicians and nursing personnel and ensuring that all regional policies/procedures are implemented.
- Assist with care planning process.
- Make rounds daily to direct the work of care team members and to observe for hazards, work duty problems, and ensure services are delivered to clients consistent with needs.
- Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement and corrective follow-up actions.
- Follow up daily on each unit to ensure changes in status are reported and recorded and that services are provided.
- Under the direction of the DNS, complete chart audits and report results and progress, and makes recommendations for improvement to the DNS.
- Ensure proper infection control techniques are utilized.
- Maintain effective communication with families, residents and community staff.
- Current RN license by State Board of Nursing in state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
- Experience in the long-term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
- Must have at least three years nursing experience and one year supervisory experience.
- Must hold an active CPR or ability to obtain within the first 30-days of hire; CPR must remain active and current throughout employment
