- Operate pellet mill machinery with a primary focus on safety and precision
- Monitor and adjust equipment settings to maintain optimal production parameters
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Ensure consistent product quality through careful process control
- Accurately record production data and equipment performance metrics
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Complete mandatory safety training and certification programs
- Perform pre-shift safety equipment checks
- Immediately report and document any safety incidents or near-misses
- Maintain awareness of potential hazards in the production area
- Meet or exceed daily production targets
- Minimize equipment downtime through proactive maintenance
- Optimize material usage and reduce waste
- Demonstrate efficiency in equipment setup and changeovers
- Collaborate effectively with team members to maximize overall production output
- Ensure pellet quality meets or exceeds specified standards
- Conduct regular quality checks and measurements, (Visual checks at pellet mills every 15 min)
- Maintain precise documentation of product specifications
- Identify and report any quality deviations immediately
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to wear required safety equipment
- Work in various temperature conditions
- Stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Arrive 15 minutes before shift start, additional time requires supervisor authority
- Participate in hand off meeting 15 minutes at end of shift with oncoming crew
- 5 minutes allotted for don/doff
- 12-hour shift rotations
- Overtime may be required
- Weekend, holiday and call-in work may be necessary
