$21/Hourly
Applicants need to be flexible with their schedule and willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays, if needed. Must be able to respond to work assignments with little to no advance notice.
Ideal candidates will have previous experience as a security officer, security guard, and/or other safety and protection related fields, including customer service roles. Must have current security guard card.

Responsibilities:
Surveillance and Patrol:
- Patrolling premises: Flex security officers conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols to ensure that the property, premises, or site remains secure. This includes checking for potential hazards, damage, or suspicious activity.
- Surveillance monitoring: They may be required to monitor security cameras or surveillance systems, watching for any unusual behavior, breaches, or safety concerns.
- Check-in guests/visitors: Security officers often screen individuals entering and leaving the premises to ensure that only authorized personnel gain access. This may include checking identification or badges.
- Enforce access restrictions: In some cases, flex officers may manage physical barriers like gates or locks to ensure only authorized individuals enter specific areas.
- Emergency response: Respond quickly to emergencies such as medical situations, accidents, fire alarms, or criminal activity. This can include contacting emergency services or taking action to control the situation until authorities arrive.
- Report incidents: Document and report any incidents, irregularities, or safety hazards that occur during a shift. Reports are often filed in writing or through digital systems and may be used for investigations or insurance claims.
- Incident documentation: Create detailed reports of security breaches, accidents, or other events that happen during their shift. These reports are crucial for management or law enforcement to assess situations and take appropriate action.
- Provide assistance: Flex security officers often assist employees, visitors, or guests by offering directions, helping with basic inquiries, or providing general customer service.
- Act as a liaison: In some cases, they may be the first point of contact for visitors or customers, helping create a positive and welcoming environment while maintaining security.
- Alarm monitoring: Officers may be required to monitor alarm systems, and if an alarm is triggered, they assess the situation and take appropriate actions (e.g., checking doors/windows, or alerting law enforcement).
- Security equipment maintenance: Ensuring that equipment like CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems are functioning properly, and reporting any malfunctions.
- Ensure compliance: Flex security officers are responsible for enforcing company policies, safety regulations, and local laws. This could involve issuing warnings or, in certain cases, calling law enforcement if rules are broken.
- Regulate behavior: They may confront people who violate site-specific rules (e.g., smoking, trespassing, or disruptive behavior) and take corrective actions, such as escorting them off the premises using de-escating tactics, if necessary.
- Flexible scheduling: Since the role is "flex" in nature, officers are expected to be adaptable to work at different times, on short notice, or at different locations as required by the employer. This might involve covering shifts for other officers who are absent or temporarily filling in at various job sites.
- Emergency shift coverage: They are called upon to cover shifts during unexpected vacancies or when extra staffing is needed due to increased demand or special events.
- Collaboration with local authorities: Flex security officers may need to work alongside police, fire departments, or emergency medical teams when handling incidents like criminal activities, accidents, or fires.
- Provide statements or evidence: They might be asked to provide testimony, assist in investigations, or provide evidence (e.g., surveillance footage) if needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Valid state security licensing is required.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able tomultitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
- Minimum of one year of security experience.
- Ability to adjust to different environments, job sites, and schedules.
- Able to interact with people, provide clear instructions, and report incidents accurately.
- Flex officers may need to be physically capable of walking long distances, standing for long periods,or responding quickly in emergency situations.
- The skills to assess situations and take appropriate action quickly.
- Attention to detail able to spot unusual activity or potential security threats.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.
- This position will require occasional crawling, crouching, climbing of stairs, kneeling, running,sitting, standing, stooping and walking for extended periods of time.
