Job Summary:
Cyient is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Aerospace Project Engineer to support aerospace engine development programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and managing industrial-level schedules, facilitating hardware logistics, executing engineering changes, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive timely project execution. This role plays a key part in the overall success of aerospace product development and testing, with opportunities to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed industrial-level schedules for aerospace projects.
- Provide schedule updates for gate reviews and program milestones.
- Revise planning documentation to align with evolving program needs and deliverables.
- Attend and support regular meetings with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and Component IPT (CIPT) leads.
- Drive tasks and deliverables toward timely completion and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Facilitate procurement and logistics for hardware builds and engine test components.
- Oversee the preparation and execution of export shipments, including completing required EAR/ITAR export documentation.
- Monitor and coordinate with external vendors on aerospace hardware fabrication and delivery timelines.
- Own and execute Engineering Changes (Class I and II) using Pratt & Whitney’s change process.
- Perform workflow actions using Teamcenter PLM system.
- Track and report progress on engineering action items; follow up with IPT leads and designers to ensure closure.
- Organize, participate in, or lead multidisciplinary project meetings with design, structural, and project teams.
- Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Outlook).
- General computer literacy including file navigation and link creation.
- Experience using Teamcenter (task creation, release, and workflow execution).
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX (UG).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney's Engineering Software (ESW) and Engineering Change (EC) systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of jet engine components and general aerospace systems.
- Knowledge of export compliance regulations (EAR and ITAR) is a plus.
- Education Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field (e.g., Power Systems, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing, or other STEM disciplines).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
