Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage and support Linux/UNIX operating systems, ensuring performance, security, and high availability.
- Configure and maintain virtualization platforms and cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain automated scripts (Python, Bash, KornShell) for system management and automation.
- Manage IBM AIX systems on Power Systems, including VIO servers and HMCs.
- Implement security best practices across Linux/UNIX environments, including managing SPNs and keytab files.
- Oversee patch management solutions (e.g., Red Hat Satellite) for Linux environments.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply performance tuning.
- Administer Apache/Tomcat application servers and support database environments on Linux platforms.
- Lead and mentor teams, ensuring adherence to best practices in infrastructure management.
- Extensive expertise in Linux and UNIX operating systems, cloud computing, and virtualization platforms.
- Strong scripting skills with Python, KornShell (ksh), and Bash shell scripting.
- In-depth understanding of security best practices in Linux/UNIX environments.
- Significant experience with IBM AIX on Power Systems, including managing VIO servers and HMCs.
- Proficiency with patch management tools such as Red Hat Satellite.
- Strong background in system performance tuning and monitoring.
- Experience with Apache/Tomcat application servers and databases on Linux platforms.
