Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Human Resources to lead all aspects of HR at Community Impact. This executive role will own our people strategy, serving as a champion of company culture and a key advisor to our leadership team.

From talent acquisition and onboarding to performance development and employee engagement, the VP of HR will ensure that our people practices align with our mission: building communities of informed citizens and thriving businesses. This leader will be instrumental in scaling our culture, empowering our people, and developing the next generation of leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Talent & Culture Leadership:

Lead the design and execution of Community Impact’s people strategy in alignment with business goals and company values.

Foster a culture of engagement, inclusion, integrity, and excellence at every level of the organization.

Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on all people-related matters, including workforce planning, culture, leadership development, and organizational design.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Oversee end-to-end recruitment strategy to attract and retain mission-aligned, high-performing talent.

Lead innovative sourcing and employer branding strategies to grow our talent pipeline.

Design and implement an engaging and values-centered onboarding experience that sets new hires up for success and long-term impact

Training, Development & Performance

Build and scale a robust training and development framework that supports continuous learning and leadership growth.

Oversee performance management systems that support goal setting, feedback, and meaningful career progression.

Champion employee development initiatives, mentorship, and succession planning to ensure future leadership readiness.

Employee Engagement & Culture

Develop and lead strategies that promote high levels of employee engagement, recognition, and connection.

Champion culture-building events, feedback channels, and communication rhythms that align with Community Impact’s mission and values.

Foster an environment where employees feel heard, supported, and empowered to do their best work.

HR Operations & Compliance

Oversee all HR policies, systems, and practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and internal values.

Manage compensation, benefits, and wellness programs that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our culture.

Lead risk mitigation efforts related to employee relations, workplace safety, and HR compliance.

Qualifications

Proven leadership experience in HR, preferably at a senior or executive level.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field (Master’s degree or SHRM-SCP/PHR certification preferred).

Demonstrated ability to build culture, develop people, and lead strategic organizational change.

Deep knowledge of HR best practices, compliance standards, and talent development strategies.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.

High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a heart for mission-driven leadership.
