Job Overview

Monroe Plumbing Inc is urgently hiring a skilled and organized Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement and warehouse operations. This is a high-impact role responsible for managing the acquisition of materials, coordinating warehouse activities, supporting jobsite logistics, and ensuring the right tools and equipment are always available for our field teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Scheduling: Source and manage the purchase and timely delivery of all necessary machinery, tools, fixtures, parts, and materials for both production and service teams.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors; resolve conflicts and manage claims efficiently.
  • Cost Management: Maintain and oversee budgets for the purchasing department while implementing cost-saving measures that do not compromise quality.
  • Inventory & Warehouse Operations: Supervise warehouse functions including inventory control, returns, obsolescence tracking, defective goods, and cleanliness.
  • Customer Interaction: Work directly with homeowners and builders to generate accurate material and fixture quotes; support clients in selecting appropriate plumbing fixtures.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in safe, working condition; uphold safety and regulatory compliance standards within the warehouse.

Qualifications

  • Education & Certification:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Valid driver's license
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with plumbing products and service workflows
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and inventory needs at once
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic office software
    • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of purchasing, warehouse, or procurement experience in residential or commercial construction (plumbing industry preferred)

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday

Work Location

  • Based at our Monroe Plumbing Inc headquarters with travel as needed between warehouse, vendors, and client locations
