JOB SUMMARY: The Salvage Supervisor is responsible for managing the processes and employees within defined groups comprising the material damage operations. Primary focus is Salvage, processing, recovery from our salvage vendor(s) and controlling inventory with our salvage vendor(s). There may be an overlap with Total Loss handling as well as other departmental requirements.
The supervisor is responsible for timely claims handling resolution, adherence to Aspire Corporate Guidelines and application of specific Material Damage Departmental Guidelines. This position requires the candidate to work full-time in our office located in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

The supervisor is responsible for timely claims handling resolution, adherence to Aspire Corporate Guidelines and application of specific Material Damage Departmental Guidelines. This position requires the candidate to work full-time in our office located in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The primary duties of this position are to:
- Control / Manage inventory with Copart/salvage vendor, to process documentation timely, including recovery of funds owed to Aspire and paying any deficit invoices owed to Copart.
- Monitor reporting through the salvage process and Copart Dashboard to control inventory being processed timely and accurately.
- Act as primary point of contact to resolve issues with disposition of Salvage at Copart.
- Assist with the training and onboarding of new team members to ensure understanding of Salvage Specialist responsibilities, workflow and adherence to accuracy.
- Mentor Salvage Specialists to develop best practices and ensure productivity expectations are met.
- Show improved, consistent and sustained reduction of vehicle counts in inventory at Copart.
- Provide support as needed to the Claim Department.
- Able to answer questions from customers regarding their claim and the claim process relative to total loss and salvage.
- Provide customer service to insured parties, third party claimants and lienholders with regards to total loss and salvage.
- Compile and mail total loss packets. Be familiar with DMV requirements for total loss and salvage processing. Send appropriate DMV forms and company required documents, review them upon return for accuracy.
- Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards and industry best practices and regulations.
- Follow up with registered owners and lienholder to obtain total loss documents necessary to pay total losses and to process salvage sale.
- Ensure pending volume of claims is fairly and appropriately load-leveled among team members when out of the office, scheduled or unexpectedly to prevent backlog of pending tasks.
- Notify NMVTIS when a vehicle is settled as a total loss.
- Assist in handling the salvage on total loss vehicles including moving vehicles to storage free locations or salvage vendors as quickly as possible.
- Comply with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, insurance carrier criteria and follow Aspire Claims Services’/partner’s policies, procedure and work rules.
- Have regular and predictable punctuality and attendance.
- Assist claims department by completing special projects.
- Produce grammatically correct and clearly written correspondence including letters, memos, reports and claim file documentation.
- Other duties as assigned/requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Ability to learn and understand insurance industry practices, standards and terminology preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Related insurance industry experience a plus.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Proficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Web-based systems, and type 35+ wpm.
- Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities.
- Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships with Staff, Partners, Clients and Insurance Carriers.
- Ability to communicate with others in an effective and friendly manner, one that is conducive to being a conscientious team member, fostering a spirit of good will, indicative of a professional environment and atmosphere.
- Ability to be a team player and work cohesively with other Aspire Claims Services’ Partners’ and Companies’ staff to achieve company goals.
- Able to represent the Company in a professional manner and contribute to the corporate image.
- Able to consistently provide excellent customer service.
- This is an exempt position which complies with alternative work schedule when applicable.
- This work environment is fast-paced, and accuracy is essential to successful task completion.
- The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment.
- National and International travel may be required.
- Vision abilities to work at close range and with small print.
- Physical efforts required include typing and conversing with customers on the telephone.
