Description

Astrana Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Operations Intern to support our ongoing efforts in strengthening our provider network and improving performance. The Quality Operations Intern is responsible for working closely with the Director of Quality Strategy and Operations to provide support in strategic planning and process optimization within the Quality Department. Areas of focus to include: network preventive health screening completion strategy, patient health risk stratification and adjustment, health equity and patient experience optimization.

The Quality Operations Intern will help contribute to the successful completion of various healthcare projects within the Quality Department. They may also work with the other Quality teams, Software Engineering teams, Data Analytics teams, Finance teams, and multiple Health Plan partners. Additionally, they will continue to support strengthening the human capital within the Quality Department.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the successful completion of various Healthcare Quality projects within a multi-team, fast-pace environment requiring analytical, communication, and financial skills
  • Conduct research, data entry and analysis for strategic and implementation initiatives
  • Support our network of physicians and their office staff through outreach and scheduling educational Quality meetings; collaborate on community-based programs to decrease health inequities and elevate the overall patient experience
  • Support reporting against quality metrics to ensure accurate measurement of health outcomes
  • Contribute to the creation of patient education materials and community outreach programs
  • Conduct research, basic data entry, and statistical tasks related to program development and member enrichment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, Data Analytics, and Health Plan partners
  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining quality documentation (e.g., SOPs, work instructions, batch records)
  • Participate in the successful delivery of healthcare quality projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Public Health, Healthcare, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • 1+ year of experience in healthcare, managed care, or management consulting preferred

  • Familiarity with healthcare quality initiatives or patient engagement strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of experience and education.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

  • This position is onsite at 1600 Corporate Center Dr, Monterey Park, CA 91754.
  • The total compensation target pay range for this role is $18.00 - 20.00 per hour. The salary range represents our national target range for this role.
