Position Summary:
Cheese Merchants of America is seeking a motivated, passionate Regional Sales Manager to service and grow our existing business, as well as seeking out new business partners.
Job Duties:
· Passionate about and well-versed in the food industry, understanding who the major broad-line distribution players are and have strong relationships with them and a proven record of influencing large deals within this segment
· Play a key role in the development of long-term strategies and responsible for developing and executing on the annual sales plan
· Sales Leader for a regional territory responsible for regional chain and independent operator “street” sales through local distributors and national distributors.
· Drive corporate programs with major and regional distributors
· Growth, service and a hands-on mindset is paramount!
· Travel extensively (+/- 60%) meeting with current customers and prospects. Maximizing time in each market by making multiple calls with several prospects, as well as current distributors, brokers, and end users within the Northwest Region.
· Work with marketing and sales leadership to develop, recommend and implement effective support programs
· Work closely with internal support departments to effectively manage customer pricing and programs.
Requirements:
· BS or BA preferred
· 5-10 years of working with broad-line distribution, regional chains and key operators.
· Food industry experience is required.
· Ideal experience would be someone with a background in perishables, cheese/dairy preferred
· Works autonomously and as part of a team to meet overall organizational goals, mission, vision, and values of the company
· Proven track record of delivering significant sales growth with major broad-line distributors and regional accounts
· Must possess strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork, and analytical skills
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Proficient or working knowledge in Microsoft Office
· Position will be primarily working remote. Must live in the assigned territory with the ability to travel a minimum +/- 60% of their time
· Preferred location: Near a major airport hub in OR or WA. Secondary NW markets may be considered.
