Key Responsibilities
- Perform groundwater sampling, gauging, and product bailing.
- Oversee drilling activities, including soil boring advancement and monitoring well installation.
- Collect soil, groundwater, and air samples.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors.
- Complete field notes and chains of custody during site activities.
- Record data, prepare reports for submittal to state agencies, and analyze findings based on scientific research and existing knowledge.
- Understand and apply Virginia DEQ site remediation regulations and guidance.
- Conduct hydrogeological assessments to evaluate groundwater flow and contamination impacts.
- Research geological formations and soil delineation studies, preparing reports and geological maps based on findings.
- Support the identification of viable remedial solutions in accordance with Federal, state, and local regulations, collaborating with the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) of Record for each project.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in geology, environmental science, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1-4+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with soil and groundwater sampling.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
- Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and good communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
