The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles, HPT Nozzles, and HPT Hangars. You’ll find state of the art technologies in CNC, EDM, and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab.
Role Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in manufacturing processes to support business goals and programs for aircraft engine component repair. This position is on-site and involves implementing and supporting automation systems, leading system fabrication, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of projects.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Additional Duties
- Implement and support automation systems.
- Lead and assist with system fabrication, equipment selection, and programming for automated systems.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing, engineering, quality, and EHS teams.
- Ensure automation systems are completed in a timely manner.
- Take ownership of major system components from prototype to shipment, keeping stakeholders regularly informed throughout production.
- Maintain automation system-related drawings, processes, and BOMs.
- Provide all technical documents, including recommended spare parts and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Analyze electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics, troubleshoot issues, and determine material and component specifications.
- Apply advanced technologies to improve yield and productivity in aircraft engine component repair, focusing on automation and robotics.
- Develop and implement robust systems that consistently meet delivery and cost targets.
- Specify needs, communicate project approaches, and present research outcomes.
- Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and methods.
- Assist with training associates and operators.
- Work together with business leadership.
- Investigate, develop, and apply new automated technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Manufacturing).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in technical, production processes, and equipment.
- Ability to support off shifts and weekends as needed.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Proven analytical and organizational ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
