As a Senior Project Manager, you'll be engaged in a complex business model that is highly adaptable to build solutions that meet their customer needs in a competitive and effective way.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead or help develop program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program/project charter, Statement of Work, etc.)
  • Identify project duration, effort, sequence and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
  • Work with resource managers to drive the identification of the skills, duration and effort required for successful project execution
  • Develop/contribute to project budgets: collect, analyze and maintain financial forecast information (e.g. labor, hardware, software), using input from applicable sources
  • Establish/apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input (e.g. key performance indicators, scope definition)
  • Drive execution and accountability of team members in order to achieve program or project milestones performance objectives and goals
  • Develop, communicate and implement program/project risk/issue management plans and strategies (e.g. mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance)
  • Consult with stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of program/project scope and objectives with the organization's strategic objectives
  • Raise awareness of any misalignment or misunderstanding of project scope and objectives with applicable stakeholders
  • Apply project life cycle methodology and tools as you develop, document and implement project plans
  • Responsible/accountable for end-to-end execution of assigned projects
  • Monitor, track, document, and report implementation status and performance
  • Assist in the transition of the client from project implementation to support/sustainment & ensure all contracted project deliverables are completed & archived
  • Lead and conduct required business stakeholder discussions and meetings, employing excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Prepare for and conduct client presentations, kick off meetings, status updates, client acceptance meetings, etc., including appropriate agendas and meeting recaps
  • Work closely with internal and Client Leadership to identify and resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes
  • Communicate effectively and gains client trust by facilitating discussions, working collaboratively, setting expectations, acting responsively, and completing deliverables

This role will challenge your ability to work on complex projects where deadlines and scope shift frequently. You'll need flexibility, agility and the ability to adapt to change while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders in a highly cross-matrixed environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management administration and / project management experience in Healthcare industry to include tracking / reporting responsibilities for large complex transformation projects
  • 2+ years of experience in change management
  • Agile project management experience
  • Experience managing through influence
  • Experience handling crucial conversations and conflicts in a public setting
  • Experience supporting a highly matrix organization
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, TEAMs and SharePoint
  • Required work hours are Pacific Time zone

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification or equivalent
  • Prosci change management certification or equivalent
  • 4+ years Healthcare operations experience
  • Lean/process improvement implementation experience in healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely and to facilitate meetings
  • Demonstrated time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work with limited direction
  • Demonstrated superb group facilitation skills, with ability to handle emotions, conflicts and “crucial conversations” in a public setting

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
