As we expand our vocational services, we are seeking an experienced Culinary professional to teach the skills and techniques that will allow students to become proficient in the areas of meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety.
This full time position is responsible for teaching and training students in the classroom and hands-on environments, ensuring that they gain the knowledge and skills, through accelerated training that will prepare the student for meaningful jobs in the culinary fields. The instructor is responsible for teaching culinary skills and techniques, implementing lesson plans as stated in syllabus, demonstrating cooking methods, and ensuring students develop proficiency in various areas like meal preparation and cooking techniques.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Model the professional behaviors, language, and activities expected of students entering the employment environment.
- Implement engaging and relevant culinary courses and curricula based on course syllabus.
- Establish relationships with other culinary professionals to stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
- Coordinate guest instructor opportunities with external culinary experts.
- Provide clear instruction on cooking techniques, safety procedures and food preparation.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained kitchen environment in accordance with SERV Safe and Department of Health requirements.
- Ensure that each student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course.
- Prepare and maintain student records and develop process reports.
- Participate in ongoing assessment and professional development activities to ensure active and engaged classroom experience for all students.
- Minimum five (5) years management experience in food service industry
- Possession of, or eligibility for, Certification in ServSafe
- Previous on-the-job training or classroom teaching experience
- Ability to communicate with students from diverse backgrounds
- Clean post-offer drug test
