TERRITORY MANAGER

IMT Insurance is hiring for a Territory Manager. This individual will work out of their home and be responsible for the Northwest Iowa territory. You will be a part of our Marketing & Sales team and will be responsible for district results and promoting new and existing products in personal and commercial lines, including bonds. A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Promote new and existing insurance products within an assigned District through agent training and education.
  • Plan and meet district goals.
  • Set goals with each agency and monitor progress throughout the year.
  • Monitor each agency’s balance of business and profitability and review it with them on each call.
  • Has some underwriting authority and must use it in determining the acceptability of a risk, this may mean the use of personal inspections.
  • Must handle all disciplinary situations with agencies and resolve issues that arise with agencies within the District.
  • Monitor exceptions and special risk acceptance for profitability.
  • Assist with agency re-underwriting, loss control and collections.
  • Provide weekly call reports to manager.
  • Handle prospecting of potential new agency appointments.
  • Classify agencies and call on all Class I agencies and all Mutuals within the area once per month.
  • Assist with co-op advertising needs as well as promotional materials.
  • Assist with field training and ongoing training of new employees.
  • Works under minimal supervision with a large degree of independence.

What You’ll Need

  • Ability to manage workflow and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to accurately key information for processing and operate complex office computer systems.
  • Ability to listen and verbally communicate to the customer.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner with the customer.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license due to required field work.
  • Maintain technical expertise and knowledge of current trends.
  • Must possess the ability to work well with others.
  • A license in Property & Casualty is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 2-4 years relevant experience is needed to perform normal functions.

The salary range for this position is $71,000.00 to $92,000.00

Starting salary and level of position will depend on level of experience

This position is not eligible for tips or commission but may be eligible for additional bonuses
