We are seeking a strategic and results-driven professional to join our team as Director of Operations. Reporting directly to the President and General Manager of Hancock Enterprises, the Director of Operations will oversee all operational functions of our manufacturing facility in Taylor, Michigan. This role is responsible for driving efficiency, implementing lean manufacturing practices, and ensuring high performance across all areas of the operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a proven ability to improve processes, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of productivity, quality, and profitability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and at job sites can be loud.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in plant management and/or multi-site leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams in fast-paced, world-class organizations
- Demonstrated expertise in driving operational growth and executing strategic initiatives
- Strong leadership presence with excellent communication skills to inspire, influence, and lead change across all organizational levels
- Experience working closely with executive leadership to identify and act on strategic opportunities
- Proven track record of creating and executing operational strategies to improve performance and profitability
- Lean manufacturing training required (Six Sigma Black Belt preferred)
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to anticipate market shifts and drive organizational change accordingly
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Capable of using data and reporting tools to inform decisions and track key performance trends
- Adept at navigating complex situations, breaking down challenges, and implementing effective, forward-thinking solutions
A typical day may include:
- Create and execute plans for the safe and efficient use of materials, machines, and employees
- Drive safety culture and best practices across the organization in partnership with the Corporate EH&S team
- Lead Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kaizen, visual management, Six Sigma, root cause analysis (RCA), and team-based activities
- Establish standard work processes, procedures, and best practices using Lean and visual management tools
- Manage all aspects of production cost, product quality, and inventory control
- Develop and maintain operational metrics and reports based on key performance indicators to guide decision-making
- Identify complex problems, evaluate potential solutions, and implement corrective actions
- Manage the operating budget and collaborate with business leadership to enhance financial performance
- Oversee performance management and professional development of direct and indirect reports
- Recommend hiring, training, and disciplinary actions in partnership with Human Resources
- Monitor market competitors and leverage sales programs to grow revenue
- Support the development, launch, and smooth transition of new products from concept to production
- Communicate and reinforce corporate policies and strategic objectives in alignment with business leadership
- Partner with the broader OmniMax Operations team on cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening coverage.
