Job Summary/Description

KEYC News Now is looking for a co-host and producer for our lifestyle show, focusing on what makes southern Minnesota and northern Iowa a fun place to live, work, and play, featuring the food, music, arts, culture, and more of the region. You’ll co-host the show and create content that airs on the show, including booking guests from around the region.

We are looking for a co-host and producer for our lifestyle show, focusing on what makes southern Minnesota and northern Iowa a fun place to live, work, and play, featuring the food, music, arts, culture, and more of the region. You’ll co-host the show and create content that airs on the show, including booking guests from around the region.

The ideal candidate will be a team player and be able to communicate effectively with management, staff, KEYC News Now viewers, and our community.

Duties/Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Serve as co-host and co-producer of community-focused lifestyle show
  • Assist in shooting, writing, and editing stories with an emphasis on covering local events
  • Meet daily deadlines
  • Write and post stories on multiple social media and digital platforms
  • Update the station website and social media accounts throughout the day as needed
  • Adhere to station branding and promotion
  • Adhere to safety rules and programs and assist in implementing new safety initiatives
  • Other duties as requested by the News Director and/or General Manager

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 4-year degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, or related field
  • An engaging and comfortable on-air personality
  • The ability and desire to enterprise and produce local sports stories and content
  • Excellent communicator
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Integrity, accountability, teamwork
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Spend extended periods of time sitting, using the telephone & computer workstation
  • Able to drive a vehicle and spend extended periods of time in a vehicle traveling to and from various locations
