Payroll and Accounts Payable (Entry Level)

Hanover, MD

Full Time

Compensation: 45k-49k (Based off experience) *Paid Hourly*

Hours: 8:00AM-4:00PM (More hours as needed based on the operation)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates looking to gain experience in payroll processing and accounts payable functions. The role involves assisting with payroll administration, processing invoices, maintaining financial records, and ensuring accurate and timely payments.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for employees.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and update information as needed.
  • Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies in a timely manner.

Accounts Payable

  • Process invoices, verify billing information, and ensure approvals.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
  • Maintain accounts payable records and reconcile statements.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.

General Accounting Support

  • Assist with month-end closing processes
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with audits.
  • Support other accounting functions as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • 2-3 yrs. Related Experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft excel and ADP preferred
  • Prior experience in payroll, accounts payable, or bookkeeping
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Office setting with standard business hours and additional as needed based on the operation.
