The Senior Program Manager - Executive Creative Projects is an experienced and highly organized professional responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of creative programs and projects. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for developing clear project timelines, setting milestones, and coordinating resources from concept through to completion. The Senior Program Manager will manage workflows, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams, and serve as the main point of contact for internal teams, clients, and vendors to maintain clear expectations and project alignment.
Key responsibilities include delegating tasks to creative professionals (designers, writers, etc.), ensuring a balanced workload and accountability, while leveraging basic knowledge of design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma) to better understand project requirements, tracking budgets, allocating resources efficiently, and ensuring cost-effective execution of all programs and projects.
The Senior Program Manager plays a crucial role in quality assurance, ensuring all deliverables meet both creative and brand standards before final approval. Identifying potential roadblocks and proactively developing solutions to maintain project schedules will be an essential responsibility. Utilizing project management tools to optimize workflows and improve efficiency (knowledge of Adobe Workfront is preferred) will be key to success. Additionally, conducting post-project retrospectives to assess successes, challenges, and opportunities for future improvements.
The Senior Program Manager works collaboratively with stakeholders to develop strategic initiatives, manage the execution of such initiatives, and constantly evolve and cultivate assets for a world-class ecosystem. The Senior Program Manager participates in gap identification and assessment to drive prioritization of work and may lead contract negotiations with external collaborators for activities within their assigned programs. Initiates, actively manages, and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external groups. Acts as a mentor for direct and indirect report team members. The Senior Program Manager works independently, assuming primary responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and delivering initiative and project activities through the entire project life cycle (from initiation to completion) that are major/complex/business critical. The Senior Program Manager is responsible to lead project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to Mayo Clinic project management methodologies and standards. Responsible for generating and managing the overall budget (as applicable) within their assigned collaborations and for related projects. Leads and provides direction in the development and tracking of project budgets. This position requires significant capacity to manage multiple competing objectives, to prioritize, and to communicate complex information in clear and unambiguous terms to management and leadership. This individual may support leadership in strategic planning processes. Presents project requests to internal and external committees and oversight bodies to receive approval and project direction and input. Independently leads problem-solving and decision-making activities, within the scope of their assigned collaborations and related projects and change management processes taking reasonable and prudent actions to accomplish agreed upon project objectives. Leverages years of experience to manage stakeholder relationships and extensive projects, and is highly competent in the implementation of project results. Uses advanced negotiation skills that are characterized by innovative thinking. Must have strong business acumen with the ability to work with people from diverse functional backgrounds and build relationships across the organization. May require matrix supervision and evaluation of staff from other departments and divisions, individuals from their assigned external collaborations, and/contractor/vendor resources. May have direct and indirect reports and be in a position to employ and guide the project staff in a goal-oriented way within projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, health care administration, or related field with 7 years of related business and/or project management experience or Master's degree in management, business administration, health care administration, or related field with 3 years of related business and/or project management experience.
Education preference: project management, business administration, management. Previous experience as a project manager (large, complex projects) or program manager is preferred.
