Position Overview:

Seeking board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physicians to join a high-volume, fully staffed Emergency Department in Waco, TX. Located on a comprehensive medical campus and serving as a certified stroke and chest pain center, this ED offers excellent specialty backup, supportive leadership, and a strong APP team. This is a W-2 employed position offering long-term stability and lifestyle balance in a growing Texas community.

Responsibilities

  • ED Volume: 54,000 annual visits
  • ED Beds: 51
  • Patients per Hour: 2
  • Admission Rate: 18%
  • Coverage Model: 10-hour shifts with 50–60 hours of physician coverage and 30–40 hours of NP/PA coverage per day
  • Designations: Certified Stroke and Chest Pain Center
  • EMR: Epic

Qualifications

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in: Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Open to Residents and Fellows
  • Open to J-1 Visa Candidates
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Active unencumbered physician Texas state license
  • Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program
  • One year of work experience as Family Practice/Internal with Emergency Medicine
  • One year of EMR experience

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
