Summary

The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting neurovascular and other sonographic exams on patients under the direct orders of a physician. The Technician is accountable at all times for patient safety.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for knowing Ultrasound Technician scope of practice and working within it, accountable at all times to an attending physician
  • Prepares exam rooms and patients for ultrasound examinations; maintains ultrasound equipment and machinery; notifies supervisor immediately of equipment defects
  • Prepares for the exam by performing an adequate time-out period, verifying that the procedure to be performed will be performed on the correct patient for the correct study


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Vascular Ultrasound technician education or other related education either in progress or completed
  • TCD experience preferred
  • RVT preferred
  • Healthcare experience required


Special Conditions of Employment

  • Furnish proof of COVID-19 vaccination

  • Strong knowledge of computer-based systems such as Excel, Word, and the Internet with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

  • Per-diem or Part-time
  • Monday - Friday
