Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team at their state-of-the-art facility in Cary, IL. Responsibilities:

  • Design custom industrial heaters, enclosures, and thermal systems using SolidWorks and other CAD tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality) to develop cutting-edge, manufacturable designs
  • Perform design calculations and thermal simulations to validate concepts and performance
  • Generate detailed drawings, BOMs, and documentation to support production and quality standards
  • Drive continuous product improvement through design optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancements
  • Participate in design reviews and lead prototype testing and validation
  • Support customer-specific product customization and application engineering

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2–5+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, etc.), and GD&T
  • Experience with thermal systems, heaters, or similar electrical-mechanical assemblies is a major plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for innovation
